How do I enable two-factor authentication (2FA)?

2FA adds an extra layer of security to your Passbase account, to better protect your users’ data. When you activated 2FA for your Passbase account, you’ll be asked to enter a six-digit code in addition to your user credentials each time you want to log in to your account. The code is delivered to a mobile device of your choice (e.g. Google Authenticator).

Getting Started

2FA is optional to use but we highly recommend it for protecting your account. When you have 2FA enabled, and your credentials get stolen, no one will be able to login to your Passebase Dashboard. You can read more about general security measures in our knowledge article.

Steps to Enable 2FA

  1. Go to to the Passbase Dashboard, and login with the email address and password used to activate your account

  2. In the bottom left corner, click Settings

  7. Enter the six digit code in the authenticator application in the Passbase Dashboard and click Enable.

Remember that all codes are valid only for a few seconds. The new one will be generated automatically upon the expiration of the previous one. Simply look into the app again, if your code is not accepted by Passbase, and use the new code.
